Entrevistamos a Paul Marc (Silverstein)

Interview with Paul Marc, Silverstein guitarist

Hello, thanks for agreeing to this interview. How are you?
I’m doing great, thanks. I’m pretty much always doing great unless I’m doing really terribly, in which case I’m terrible. Thanks for having me.

How was the concert in Barcelona?
The concert in Barcelona was amazing. It was really hot, very dark, probably loud and definitely fun.

Do you like Spain? And his audience?
I’ve only been to Spain once but I loved it. It’s beautiful and I can’t wait to come back.

About the band

How did you start in Silverstein?
I, personally, didn’t start Silverstein. I believe the other guys formed the band about 13 years ago. I remember going to Silverstein shows in our hometown when I was pretty young and just getting into the scene. They did a good job engaging the community in the music scene.

For those who do not know, could you tell us why Silverstein?
The name? Shel Silverstein is a prolific artist.

With whom do you get better?
I get better with people better than me. The best way for anyone to get better is to be surrounded by talent and passion.

Why you sing the song of Arrivals?
I sing the song Arrivals because I wrote the song Arrivals. It wasn’t even supposed to be on the record- it was written for my then-girlfriend and i tended up being a good fit on the album.

Tour stuff

What is the best of being on a tour with Silverstein? And what about the worst?
The best part about touring is travelling with my friends. We get to do what we love every night. The worst part is also the best part. Sometimes you get quite tired- not sleeping well, too many beers, whatever, and you start complaining. Your brain tells you it’s time to go home. The worst part for me is when I catch myself being anything but grateful for the dream job I have.

Can you tell us a funny story that happened to you at a concert?
Once, in Dallas, the PA’s power blew out. It was at the House Of Blues which is a pretty big venue. Shane grabbed an acoustic guitar and played Greenday covers with no microphones. He was yelling to about 1500 people who I’m sure could barely hear him. It’s not so much funny as it is cool, but that’s my answer.

Do you enjoy doing what you do?
Of course I enjoy it! I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

To end

How has the reception of the new album "How Is The Wind Shifts"?
The critics, the fans, our peers, our friends all seemed to like the record a lot. It’s been a fun record to tour because the songs are so bouncy and fun to play.

What can we expect from Silverstein in the future?
More records, more touring, maybe I’ll grow a moustache but probably not.

Now one of a personal issue, we know that you had a stomach surgery, how are you?
I seem to have healed up just fine, thanks. I’m keeping my fingers crossed just in case, but I think I’m going to be okay.

Well, that's it for us, thanks for agreeing to our interview, thank you from the whole EnterHead Team. Anything else you want to say?
Thanks for the opportunity to speak with you, thanks for the continuing support in Spain, please have us back soon!

Para terminar, aquí os dejamos una fotito de nuestro colaborador con Paul Marc (como se puede apreciar sale muy contento).
